This is a season of change in the body of Christ. We are moving into a new season in the Spirit. To me, it is not so much a shift in God’s agenda as much as it is a repositioning of His resources to maximize their strategic value to His kingdom plan. And so many people are experiencing the discomfort of that inward sensing of the change that is occurring. Many are being repositioned, promoted, and ushered into a new phase in their lives and ministries.
It is an exciting time. But it is also uncomfortable for many, especially those who are experiencing opportunities to do new things that they have never done before.
And so, as we encounter change and transition, passing into a new season of opportunity in our life, there are steps that we must remember that will help us to move forward successfully in God’s great plan for our lives.
1. Avoid the pitfalls of frustration, anxiety, and stress. What you have been doing may not be what you are to do, or the way in which you are to do it, in this new season of your life. Don’t allow the emotions that change produces to rule your life. Work on staying in peace, and always remember that God is leading you into something better and greater. Watch out for the temptation of self pity or discouragement.
2.Don’t be in a hurry to step out and do something. Often when people sense a change or transition is coming, there is a temptation to jump out into the first opportunity that comes along. Avoid that. Focus on the peace of God, and as you follow that, you will make the right steps at the right time.
3.Don’t forget that there is a timing to leave one season and move to the next. Do it the right way! Make sure that whatever you are leaving is not suffering because of your leaving. Put things in order. Usually when we sense change is coming, it takes much time before it actually occurs, so that we have ample time to prepare ourselves and other people for it.
4.Pray pray pray! It is so vital for you to pray through whatever your next phase in life is. Thank God for the Holy Spirit, Who helps us to pray when we don’t know how! Avail yourself to this wonderful resource. It will help you to process the plan of God as you pray it out.
Let us be like the tribe of Issachar in the Old Testament, who had understanding of the times, and knew what Israel ought to do. When we understand the time and season we are in, we will also have an understanding of the steps and direction we are to take in that time and season. The Holy Spirit, Who lives with us, knows all things. He knows the end from the beginning, and everything in between. So He knows what is coming next in our lives. As we cultivate a relationship with Him through daily fellowship and obedience, we will become aware of what is next on His agenda for us, and how we are to respond to His direction and purpose. May you be blessed in this season you are in, and as you step into the next season in God!
